I LOVE dippy eggs too! But I like them to be really dippy.

How do you time your eggs to get them right?

In response to your question about timing boiled eggs...

We did an experiment and actually tested the time with a stop watch instead of just guessing.

With 3 cups of cold water in a small pot we boiled 2 eggs. It took 8.10 minutes until a rolling boil. For a tres dippy yolk take your egg out at 9.30 minutes or 1 minute and 20 seconds after the rolling boil.

I on the other hand would leave my egg in until 11.10 minutes or 3 minutes after the rolling boil.

In both cases, put your egg under cold running water to stop it cooking.

Dippy on!
